What is silica gel?

Silica gel is a highly active adsorption material and is an amorphous substance.

Physical and chemical properties:

Appearance: Transparent or milky white granular solid.

Structure: It has an open porous structure with strong adsorption and can adsorb a variety of substances.

Moisture absorption: Some silica gels can absorb about 40% or even 300% of moisture.

Application areas:

Medical field: used to manufacture medical devices, surgical instruments and medical device seals, as well as to manufacture some artificial organs.

Electronic field: used as packaging and insulation materials in electronic components to protect circuit boards and sensitive electronic components.

Mechanical engineering: used to manufacture seals and gaskets, as well as vibration damping materials.

Chemical industry: used for sealing of chemical pipelines and liquid delivery systems, as waterproof and anti-corrosion coatings.

Food and beverage industry: used to manufacture food-grade seals and baking molds.

Aerospace industry: used to manufacture seals for spacecraft and aerospace electronic components.
